Tony Vitello has done it again. He has landed another elite player out of the transfer portal.

Tyler Myatt has committed to the Vols.

He is from Tazewell, TN and has played his career at Walters State Community College, one of the top JUCO programs in the country.

Myatt, who was widely considered the best JUCO player in the nation, committed to Tennessee over Texas A&M, LSU, and others.

He was the JUCO triple crown winner slashing 31 home runs, with 110 RBIs, and an astonishing average of .484 in 66 games this season.

His HRs and RBIs also broke Walters State records this season for most in program history previously held by Alberto Osuna, who had previously hoped to be a Vol this season.

Myatt said he’s been watching UT teams since the 2021-22 baseball season.

“The '21 and '22 year sold me right there… I’ve been all over it ever since they’ve had those years,” he said. “I’ve known every position player by their names and position.

“I just wanted to wear orange so bad.”

Myatt, who is primarily an infielder and utility player, should find him ito the lineup next season with his bat and is a huge commitment for Tony V and the staff.
