The Associated Press preseason All-America teams were released Monday morning.

Tennessee corner Jermod McCoy was featured on the First Team along with 11 other SEC peers.

The First Team defense also included SEC players Dylan Stewart (EDGE, South Carolina), Colin Simmons (EDGE, Texas), Anthony Hill Jr. (LB, Texas), West Weeks (LB, LSU), Michael Taaffe (DB, Texas), and Brett Thorson (P, Georgia).

Kadyn Proctor (OT, Alabama), Ar’maj Reed-Adams (OG, Texas A&M), Jake Slaughter (C, Florida), Eli Stowers (TE, Vanderbilt), and Ryan Williams (WR, Alabama) were the SEC’s offensive players selected.

The AP First Team featured 27 players in total determined by the AP Top 25 voters.

Several SEC players were featured on the Second Team, as well, but none more from Tennessee.

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the AP All-America teams first published in 1925.

McCoy is currently dealing with an ACL injury that has lingered from last season.

As of the start of UT’s fall camp there was no timetable for his return to the field.

Ideally, he would be ready to go by the time Tennessee hosts Georgia on Sept. 13 but only time will tell.
