KNOXVILLE – After decommitting from Florida State on Sunday following his official visit to Rocky Top, three-star athlete Dayon “DayDay” Cooper didn’t stay on the market long. Cooper announced his commitment to Tennessee on Monday afternoon, Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett reported.

Cooper, a South Pittsburg native, is ranked No. 516 nationally in the 2027 cycle and a top-25 player in Tennessee according to the 247Sports Composite. Listed at 6-foot-1 and 183 pounds, he delivered a marvelous junior season, finishing with 29 receptions for 421 yards and 10 touchdowns while also rushing for 421 yards and 5 scores. His production earned him Tennessee Division 1A Mr. Football honors as he helped lead South Pittsburg to a 14-1 record and a Division 1A state championship.

Cooper had been committed to Florida State since April 4 but now becomes the latest in-state prospect to join Josh Heupel’s 2027 class. He projects as a wide receiver at the next level.
