KNOXVILLE – After sweeping the Knoxville Regional with wins over Northern Kentucky and Virginia, No. 7 Tennessee softball (45-10, 16-8 SEC) welcomes No. 10 seed Georgia to Sherri Parker Lee Stadium for a best of 3 Knoxville Super Regional with a trip to the Women’s College World Series on the line.
This will be the first meeting of the season between the two SEC foes. Georgia arrives in Knoxville after sweeping the Athens Regional with wins over Charleston, UNC Greensboro, and Clemson to advance as a top 10 national seed. The Bulldogs enter the weekend at 41-18 and 12-12 in SEC play.
Tennessee is looking to return to Oklahoma City for the second straight season, a feat the program has not accomplished since Karen Weekly’s teams made three consecutive WCWS trips from 2005 through 2007. Georgia is seeking its sixth appearance in Oklahoma City and its first since 2021.
First pitch tonight is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2, with game two set for Friday at 3 p.m. ET.
