James Pearce is a true Vol For Life.
The Atlanta Falcons rookie may be sporting red and black now, but don’t confuse that for any particular affection towards the Georgia Bulldogs.
“I’m a down south kid,” Pearce told reporters after practice on Wednesday. “I didn’t like the Georgia Bulldogs that much,” Pearce said with a grin.
Pearce, who was an absolute nightmare off the edge for opposing SEC quarterbacks, was selected 26th overall in the 2025 NFL Draft after totaling 71 tackles, 19.5 sacks, and 29.5 TFLs over three seasons in Knoxville.
Now in Atlanta, Pearce is expected to play a pivotal role in overhauling the Falcons’ pass rush alongside rookie teammate Jalon Walker, a former Georgia star. The two pass rushers have already built a relationship during training camp, with Pearce noting the duo likes “racing to the quarterback.”
