EXPERT: ‘Neyland Stadium Is The Toughest Place To Play In College Football’

By Cody McClure

CBS Sports college football voice Josh Pate has seen some stadiums.

The guy travels all around the country over the course of the college football season.

If anybody could be considered an expert on gameday atmospheres, it would be him.

With that said, Pate has taken exception to EA Sports’ recent rankings of the toughest places to play in college football.

The gaming company had Neyland Stadium all the way down at No. 12 in the country.

“I’ve got all the respect in the world for the folks at EA,” Pate said. “But to have Tennessee outside the top ten of toughest places to play in college football is evidence of drug use.

“Not only is Tennessee top ten. Neyland Stadium is the toughest place to play in college football. Don’t start with me. You can go argue with this wall over here. I’ve been there for the best of it.”

Pate went on to call Neyland “deafening” and spoke about how annoying “Rocky Top” is for opposing fans.

“Psychologically, it does something to you.”

An avalanche of orange. Tremendous.
