Tennessee Hosting Multiple High‑Priority Transfer Targets This Week

KNOXVILLE – Tennessee Baseball has hosted or plans to host multiple highly coveted transfer portal targets this week, Fox Sports Knoxville’s Bob Baskerville reported Wednesday on “The Drive”.
Baskerville shared live on air that Tennessee and head coach Josh Elander have already hosted UConn left-hander Cayden Suchy and Tulane outfielder Jason Wachs for visits. The Vols also plan to host Cal Baptist right-hander Michael Malki later this week.
Suchy, a two-year player in Storrs, was named the Big East Pitcher of the Year in 2026. He posted a 5-3 record as a sophomore, starting in all 15 games appeared, while recording a 2.82 ERA and striking out 105 batters across 89.1 innings.
Wachs, a two-year starter at Tulane, earned American Conference First Team honors in 2026. He led the Green Wave in batting average, hitting .327 with a .453 on base percentage while driving in 54 runs, hitting 9 home runs and drawing 38 walks.
Malki, a two-year arm out of Cal Baptist, is expected to visit later this week. The Corona (Cali.) native went a perfect 11-0 as a sophomore, appearing in 18 games with 15 starts while posting a 3.12 ERA. He struck out 111 batters in 75.0 innings and issued 37 walks.
