Christian Moore is headed to the show. Tony V has done it again as he sends another player to the majors.
Moore, who played for the Vols from 2022-24, was a part of last season’s College World Series National Title team.
After the season he was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels with the 8th pick in the 2024 MLB Draft.
He then started his first game as a professional with the Single-A Inland Empire 66ers. After a successful couple of days he was promoted to the Double-A Rocket City Trash Pandas. Once again after a successful stint there he was moved up to the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees.
Over his career in minor league ball he hit for a .302 average, 11 HRs, and 52 RBIs.
Moore was considered the Angels’ number one prospect by MLB.com.
He’ll now join former Vol Ben Joyce on the Angels. Both players were a part of the 2022 team where Joyce threw some of the fastest pitches in the nation.
Tony Vitello has now had ten VFLs reach the MLB including Garrett Crochet, Chase Silseth, Ben Joyce, Andrew Lipcius, Jordan Beck, Trey Lipscomb, Seth Halvorsen, Chase Hollander, Blade Tidwell, and now Christian Moore.
The Angels will start a road trip over the next week in Baltimore and New York City to face the Orioles and the Yankees.
It will be intriguing to see where CMO makes his MLB debut.
