Tennessee hoops enter this week at 20‑7 overall and 10‑4 in SEC play, sitting in a tie for second place in the conference and continuing one of the strongest surges in college basketball. The Vols have won eight of their last nine games and 15 of their last 17, and their tournament résumé now includes five Quad 1 victories, a No. 17 NET ranking, and a No. 14 KenPom ranking.
Joe Lunardi (ESPN)
Lunardi places Tennessee as a 5 seed in Philadelphia, drawing a 12 seed matchup with AAC leader South Florida. A potential second-round matchup with Michigan State could await the Vols.
Jerry Palm (CBS Sports)
Palm also has Tennessee on the 5 line facing 12‑seeded South Florida, but in the South Region in San Diego. If the Vols advance, Palm also projects a likely second‑round matchup against Michigan State.
Andy Katz (NCAA.com)
Katz did not move Tennessee up a seed line following the Vols’ 2‑0 week, keeping them as a 6 seed matched up with the country’s only undefeated team, Miami (OH), as an 11 seed. His bracket sends Tennessee to Oklahoma City with a potential second‑round matchup against Nebraska.
Kevin Sweeney (Sports Illustrated)
Sweeney keeps Tennessee as a 6 seed but sends them to Tampa. The Vols would face the First Four winner between Santa Clara and TCU, with Texas Tech projected as the second-round opponent.
Brad Wachtel (Hoops HQ)
Wachtel is slightly higher on Tennessee, placing the Vols as a 5 seed in Greenville, SC. His bracket pairs Tennessee with Yale in the opening round and Virginia as the likely second-round opponent.
Andrew Adams (Field of 68)
Adams also lists Tennessee as a 5 seed, sending them to Tampa to face 12th-seeded South Florida. A second-round matchup with Virginia would likely be on deck.
