As Expected Josh Heupel Says Nothing At SEC Media Days But That’s Totally Fine

SEC Media Days are in full swing from the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.

Our boy Josh Heupel took the stage this afternoon and said… a whole lot of nothing.

It was the classic “coach speak” performance from Heupel. He answered all of the reporters’ questions in a polite, political manner.

No fun quotes. No “we’re going to beat the hell out of Alabama.” Nothing all that exciting.

But that’s OK.

It tells me that our coach is locked in. He’s ready for talking season to be over, which he made note of.

Enough about Nico. It’s over and done with.

Enough with the rankings of our most important players and position groups.

Enough of dissecting what EA Sports thinks about our roster and our stadium.

It’s football time in Tennessee. Almost.

The only thing that stood out somewhat was that Heupel said there would be a quarterback competition for the starting job next month.

Even that was predictable, though. Nobody expected him to name a starter today.

It seems that Heupel is excited about the guys who are currently in the building and he and the staff seem to have a quiet confidence going into the season.

The players seem confident too:
