Alabama Is Now Too Broke To Compete At A High Level, Per Former QB

By Cody McClure

I don’t know if this is supposed to be some sort of pro-Kalen DeBoer propaganda or if it’s the truth.

Alabama is broke.

Broke, at least, in the sense of competing at a championship level — according to former Tide quarterback AJ McCarron.

McCarron cried recently on a podcast about how Alabama has a measly $20 million OR LESS in its NIL fund while the real contenders in college football are more than doubling that amount with their rosters.

We’ve had other similar reports of this nature over the offseason, so maybe it is true.

But also I like to think that the DeBoer PR team is reaching out to Alabama media voices with these narratives because the guy can’t coach.

Who would have thought that after just one week of the 2025 college football season Alabama Football would be on life support?

It really is a thing of beauty, isn’t it? A long time coming.

Think of all those years from 2007 to 2022 when you penciled in that loss on the schedule. The pain. The frustration.

Now they’re feeling it in Tuscaloosa. And I’m so happy to laugh at them. I hope their pain lasts forever. They’ve won enough.

How sweet it is.

AJ McCarron is known for his giant chest tattoo:

And for being married to the beautiful former Miss Alabama, Katherine Webb, who legendary broadcaster Brent Musburger memorably lusted over back in 2012:
